What is Modesty?

THE BEAUTY OF MODESTY

Modesty is often misunderstood as solely being reflected in conservative attire, such as long turtlenecks and floor-length dresses. However, this narrow perception deviates from the true essence of modesty. Modesty encompasses more than just a fashion statement; it encompasses a way of life that redirects attention from ourselves to Jesus through our actions and choices, including how we dress. Modesty is rooted in humility and the absence of pride.

The essence of modesty is rooted in holiness. Our purpose, as created by God, is to embody holiness, which sets us apart from falsehood( Deuteronomy 14:2). The grace of God within us urges us to showcase his holiness in the visible aspects of our lives that others observe.

Modesty does not confine you; it leads to genuine life and true liberation. Do not allow others to dilute God's true meaning and purpose of modesty, steering you away from its blessings. Embrace the life that God intended for you by delving into the true essence of modesty.

1 Corinthians 12:23
